The best step up from PLA. Handles impact, moisture, and moderate heat. Great for functional parts, outdoor clips, and anything that needs to last.
ABS
AdvancedAcrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene
What LEGO bricks are made of. Handles temperatures up to ~100°C, takes impact, and can be acetone-smoothed to a professional finish. Requires an enclosure.
TPU
IntermediateThermoplastic Polyurethane
Bends, stretches, and bounces back. Perfect for phone cases, gaskets, grips, shoe insoles, and any part that needs to flex or absorb impact.
Silk PLA
BeginnerSilk PLA (Shiny PLA)

AdvancedPolyamide (PA)
Nylon is one of the toughest FDM filaments available. Self-lubricating, chemical-resistant, and built to handle mechanical stress. Gears, bearings, and tool handles love it. Requires careful moisture management.

For outdoor Utah conditions, ASA is the best choice — it's specifically engineered for UV and weather resistance and outperforms PLA, PETG, and ABS outdoors. PETG is a solid option for moderate outdoor use. TPU works well for flexible outdoor parts. Our team can walk you through options in person.
What is ASA filament good for?
ASA is the outdoor champion. It has excellent UV resistance, survives Utah sun and freeze-thaw cycles, and maintains its strength and color over time. Use ASA for outdoor signage, garden tools, security camera mounts, drone bodies, automotive exterior parts, and any part permanently exposed to weather.
